At 83, William N. Olsen passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by family on September 15, 2015  after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. He grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School. Bill graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in Science and Industrial Management. Prior to retirement in 2002, Bill worked for Commonwealth Wine and Spirits in Mansfield for many years. He was a veteran and served in the United States Army. He lived in Easton for 46 years and loved the town. He was also an animal and nature lover who spent many hours at Borderland with several different beloved pets. He was a sports fan too. For years he played team volleyball at the YMCA with his son. He also enjoyed Red Sox’s games and was a relentless Patriot’s fan. Bill loved Maine and spent a lot of time there in his lifetime, kayaking and enjoying family and friends. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Olsen, and children Carolyn Huntington, Michelle Wood-O’Donnell, Jay Olsen, and Lauren Olsen, his grandchildren Kristen Flynn, Alexandria Huntington, Edward Huntington and Brynn Shelburne Olsen and his daughter in law Susan Wood-Clark. His family will remember his dedication to them and love for them always.  The family would like to thank the fire department, kind neighbors, and his compassionate aides.  Their help enabled us to keep him at home. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Services pending.
