Vasco W. Amorim passed away peacefully at his home on October 16, 2023, one day before his 97th birthday. He was born in North Easton to the late Romeiro Amorim and Adeline (Madeiros) Amorim. He leaves behind his loving wife Patricia (Lorenson) of 35 years.
Vasco was a veteran of World War ll, serving in the Navy as a Seabee in the Pacific. He was an active member of the VFW Post 2547 in Easton, until recent years. He helped in the building of the War Memorial in Easton on Pond Street in 2004, as well as marching in the town parades as a veteran for many years.
He was proud of the fact that he helped in the construction of the VA Hospital in Brockton, where he was later treated over the years. He also worked on the construction of Route 24 in the Easton/Brockton area. Vasco was employed at Stonehill College for 35 years, starting as a laborer and retiring as supervisor of Building & Grounds. Vasco enjoyed travelling with his wife Pat and his many friends and family. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family, no matter the occasion.
In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by his sons Mark of East Taunton and Kenneth and his wife Indiana of Brockton, grandsons Timothy of East Taunton, and Christopher of Taunton, as well as his two great-grandsons, Jake and Jack Amorim.
Vasco is also survived by his siblings, Fran Pratt of Livermore Falls, ME, Theresa Goodnow of Middleboro, Grace O'Gorman of East Falmouth, John and his wife Linda of Easton, Jean Amorim of Stoughton, Linda Pietropaulo and her husband Pete of Riverside, CA, and Dennis and his wife Sue of Newtown, PA. He is predeceased by his sisters Margret McSweeney, Valdemira Stearns and brothers Daniel and William Amorim.
Vasco also leaves behind his extended family, Anthony Zagami and his wife Christina of Reading, Peter Zagami and his wife Arlane of Alton Bay, NH, Cynthia Scali and her husband Stephen of Wilmington, and Rocco Zagami and his wife Lori of Stoneham. Along with the nine combined grandchildren of their extended family, he also leaves behind many, many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service with full Military Honors will take place on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the South Easton Cemetery, Washington Street, Easton, MA at 11:00am. All friends and family are respectfully invited to attend.
