Thora (Toni) Booth Obituary

Thora Helen (Toni) Booth died December 4th 2021 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Booth. Toni was the devoted mother to Barbara Tasho and her husband Steven of Easton, Sue Moore-Morrison and her husband Chuck of Hanover, Richard Booth and his wife Deborah of Hudson, MA and Robert Booth and his wife Julie of Aurora CO.  She was the loving grandmother to Steven Tasho, Jason Moore, Rachel and Emily Booth, and Matthew and Kevin Booth.

Toni was born in Canaan CT. to the late Kenneth and Lillian (Nickerson) Whitman. She moved to Boston to study nursing and began a life of caring for others. As a nurse, she cared for a patient named Ann Booth. While caring for Mrs. Booth, she met her son, a young Navy Sailor. They fell in love and married. The couple settled in Stoughton MA and began a family.  As the family grew, they moved to North Easton MA where they raised their family and where Toni has resided for the past 55 years.

After the death of her husband, Toni devoted her life to her grandchildren and her grand-dogs.  She became a care giver to her two grandsons; Steven and Jason, who lived in the area. She brought them to preschool, the playground, and shared special lunches with them each day.

Toni's greatest joy in life came from cooking and baking for others.  All were welcome at her home and at her table. “Nana Toni” was known for her cookies and soups which she shared with everyone. She was an accomplished artisan. She put her creative energies into quilting, knitting, and sewing and crafted love into the beautiful gifts she made for everyone.

In her final days, Toni resided at Copley at Stoughton as part of her hospice care.  Even as she battled cancer, she was full of smiles, encouragement and funny comments for her fellow residents and staff.  She continued caring about all those around her until her passing.  She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered forever by everyone she touched with her love.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 18th at the Southeast Funeral Home, 93 Center St., Easton, MA at 11:00AM.  Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 97 Canton St., North Easton, MA.
