Sheila O (Young) Braxton

Sheila Braxton, age 55 formerly of Brockton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 20th.  She was born to Lucille Young and the late Benjamin Young. She is survived by her brother Robert Young of Brockton and sister Sherie Seymore and her husband Raymond of Boston.

Sheila grew up in Boston and graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1981. She loved running track and cheerleading for Cathedral High and Hyde Park High. After high school she attended Framingham State College before graduating from Boston City Hospital School of Nursing in 1991. She married her high school sweetheart Michael Braxton Sr. in 1985; they went on to raise three children together.

She spent many years as an LPN providing healthcare services to those in need. Her commitment to helping others is a lasting memory her family will keep forever. In her free time, Sheila loved to scrapbook, garden and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.

Sheila leaves behind three loving children, her daughter, Tiana Braxton of Brockton, her son Michael “Keith” Braxton Jr. (Brittany) of Taunton and her son Kevin Braxton (Paige) of Boston.

She leaves behind six grandchildren, T’aurrie Braxton, Anaya Braxton, Brielle Braxton, Michael “Peanut” Braxton III, Avery Braxton, and Caiden Braxton.  

She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who were close to her heart.       

Visitation will take place on Saturday June 30th from 12-1 pm at Southeast Funeral Home “Copeland Mackinnon” 93 Center St. Easton MA. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home at 1pm. All are welcome and flowers can be sent to the funeral home for the day of service.
