MaryLou Houle, age 80, of Easton, MA, passed away on Friday November 17, 2023. She was born on September 27, 1943, in Dorchester, MA, to the late Mary Catherine Santoro and Joseph Dominic Santoro.
MaryLou's life was deeply intertwined with that of her devoted husband, Edward "Eagle" Houle. They met on August 8, 1964, and from that day forward, they were inseparable. Their first date consisted of attending church together and sharing a cup of coffee. MaryLou and Edward celebrated 58 years of marriage, demonstrating their unwavering commitment and devotion to one another.
MaryLou is survived by her two children, Jeannine Houle and Lynnette Sussman, and her husband David Sussman, as well as her niece Terri Goncalves. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Alyssa Shaw, Dylan Shaw and his fiancé Amy Stewart, Matthew Goncalves, and Emily Sussman.
As a lifelong resident of Quincy, MA, before retiring to Easton, MaryLou was a loving and caring friend and neighbor. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was loved by many and had a beautiful soul and infectious laugh. She was a loving and caring mother, adoring grandmother, and aunt.
A ceremony to honor MaryLou's life will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Southeast Funeral Home, located at 93 Center St., North Easton, MA 02356. Immediately following the service, a Celebration of Life will take place at the VFW, 61 Rockland St. North Easton, MA 02356. All family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Old Colony Hospice in memory of MaryLou Houle.
