John Shaw

 Formally of New, Hartford, CT

John Shaw of Hull, MA passed away on May 2, 2018 after a battle with cancer. John, a native of Oakville, CT, proudly served as a Seabee in the Navy during two tours in Vietnam. A resident of New Hartford for 26 years, John served as past Chief of the South End Fire Department.  

John is survived by his wife, Hilary, daughter Lisa Thomas, stepdaughters Colin Kunsman and Erin Bongard, sisters Ginny Vadney, Arlene Briere and husband Gus, many grandchildren, one great grandchild, and other extended family. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Orissa Shaw, son Kenneth Shaw and sister Edith Allard. Family and friends are welcome to honor John's memory on June 10 from 1:30-3:30, with the rendering of Military Honors at 2:00, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles St Torrington, CT.
