John Scott Donnelly

John Scott Donnelly passed away from cancer just short of his 63rd birthday on October 7, 2021. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 9, 1958. He was the son of James G. Donnelly and Mary P. Donnelly.

He grew up in Needham, MA with his 3 younger sisters, Julie (Minard), Kathi (Picone), and Tracey (Geden). He attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Needham, followed by Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, MA. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame in 1980 and continued as an enthusiastic “Fighting Irish” fan. His career flourished in various businesses and he enjoyed his life as a resident of Walpole, MA for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer playing for Catholic Memorial High School and then as a member of Woodland Golf Club in Newton, MA.  John made many lifelong friends playing the sport he loved. His favorite places which he regularly visited were Sugar Hill, NH where he spent his summers as a youth and Wolfeboro, NH where his parents retired.

He is survived by a loving and devoted mother, three sisters and their families. He will be missed!! The family will have a private memorial to commemorate and remember his life.
