Jane Greenwood Obituary

Jane M. Greenwood (Sullivan) of Easton, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, in Boston, Massachusetts surrounded by her devoted family and into life everlasting to be reunited with her beloved, the late Kenneth A. Greenwood, after a period of failing health.

Jane was born on July 29, 1949 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA to the late William J. Sullivan and the late Elsa M. (Johnson) Sullivan. She grew up in Easton, Massachusetts, graduating from Oliver Ames High School, Class of 1967. She was a longtime congregant of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and she was inducted into the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Easton as a teenager. This gave Jane her start in teaching bible school which she did faithfully for over 30 years.

Her father introduced her to the love of her life, Kenneth A. Greenwood of Foxborough, Massachusetts, who started his military service in the United States Navy and Army, and then found his passion and made his career in the United States Air Force.  They married on June 19, 1971. Jane loved becoming a military spouse and supporting her husband and was stationed throughout the country including Florida, California, Utah, and Arizona, meeting new friends that became their second family as they  grew their family.

After settling into military life, Jane became a tax preparer hired by H & R Block in 1980 and continued on with this work for over 35 years, gaining many loyal clients and friends that she looked forward to seeing each and every year. It was the death of her husband that brought Jane back to Massachusetts in 1985 to be closer to her supportive family and to the Church that gave her the steadfast perseverance to raise her four daughters, who never imagined a life without her, and who will miss hearing her humming her favorite church hymns on the weekends while preparing communion bread or the Sunday family dinners they had come to cherish. In continuance of living her life in service to her church, Jane was employed by Holy Trinity as their Administrative Assistant for almost 15 years, until her well-deserved retirement in 2019.

Jane is survived by her four daughters, along with their families, Kerrie and Eric Easterday of Dighton, Massachusetts, Deborah and Gary Cormier of Easton, Massachusetts, Lara and Andrew Schwarz of Norton, Massachusetts, and Denise Greenwood and her partner, Sergio Dias and his son Primo of Taunton, Massachusetts, her loving siblings, Andrea Cady and family of Easton, Massachusetts, David Sullivan and family of Rockford, Illinois, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and her loyal adoring rescue dog, Bella Blue. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren whom she adored and enjoyed showering with attention and handmade sewing projects in her free time, the lights of her life, Cameron, Madelyn, Kendra, Kendall and Evelyn.
