Donald Raymond Cummings, 73, of Fall River, MA, passed away peacefully on June 3rd, 2023. He was born on October 3rd, 1949, to the late Leo Raymond Cummings and Theresa (Fiola) Cummings. Donald was a loving father, brother and a caring friend.
After graduating from Prevost High School where he was the editor of the school paper, Donald went on to study political science at Northeastern University. During his time at the University he had an unquenchable thirst for American and world history. He was always a wealth of pertinent factoids long before Google. After school he went on to start his own contracting business and later a home inspection business, Hometrek.
As a child, Donald spoke French as his first language, which became a skill he utilized during his many European adventures. His fluency in French allowed him to forge meaningful connections with the people he met and immerse himself in the richness of other cultures.
Donald leaves behind his two beloved children, Rayna Michelle Cummings of Walpole, Massachusetts, and Michael Ian Cummings of Brooklyn, New York as well as two grandsons. He was a dedicated father who took immense pride in his children's accomplishments, always encouraging them to follow their dreams.
He came from a musical family and enjoyed singing harmonies by a piano or a record player. An art lover and a talented illustrator, Donald appreciated all the beauty the world had to offer and wasn’t afraid to shed a tear. He was truly a kind and gentle soul.
Donald will be remembered as an outgoing, friendly, jovial man. Walking through town could take abnormally long as he would stop to chat with everyone he saw. His family always joked that he should have been the mayor. A compassionate guy with a heart of gold, he would give you the shirt off his back.
Donald will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have shared in his life.
