Diane Marie Fontes, 62, died peacefully at home on February 10, 2021. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Diane had touched in some small way throughout her memorable life.
She was born July 20, 1958, in Boston, Massachusetts to Anthony and Barbara Fontes, and was a lifelong resident of Easton. Diane graduated from the Massachusetts Hospital School in 1978. She was an active volunteer at the Brockton Veterans Administration Hospital for over 30 years and received many citations for her years of dedicated service. Her interests included knitting, music, reading, local sports and her beloved pets Otto, Mac, Sallie and Trixie. She devoted much of her time and energy to the interests of her family.
Diane is survived by her father, Anthony D. Fontes Jr, her sister Laurie Ellen Titus and her husband William, her brother Anthony D. Fontes III and his wife Kimberly, her sister Kathleen and husband Rick Saulnier. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Thomas A. Fontes, his wife Jessica and son Thomas Jr., Olivia F. Titus and William H. Titus Jr., Anthony D. Fontes IV, Daniel A. Fontes, and Molly G. Fontes, She is also survived by her friend and caregiver Kelly Doherty Keating and her dear friend Elise Sandel.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Mother Barbara L. Fontes.
Donations may kindly be sent to the Easton Council on Aging.
Visitation will be held at the Southeast Funeral Home, 93 Center St., Easton, MA on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 10:00AM-10:30AM with a service in the funeral home at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne, MA. COVID restrictions will apply.
