Debra "Debby" A. Chapman, a resident of Easton, passed away on January 18th, 2022. Debby was the beloved wife and soulmate for 40 years to Greg Chapman.
Born in Attleboro MA, Debby is the daughter of Ann (Wright) Tomeo of North Attleboro, and the late Phillip Tomeo. Debby was raised in Wrentham and was a graduate of King Phillip High School. Debby then went on to receive her bachelor's degree in teaching from Bridgewater State College.
Debby worked at the Easton Junior High School where she taught 8th graders as an English teacher. Debby also worked as a sales representative in the Cosmetic Industry for Avon.
Debby was an avid animal enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with her cats Tugger, Cory, Tobey, Moe and Siana. Debbys hobbies included avidly watching sports, especially the Olympics, reading, and going to the casino. Debby enjoyed being by the ocean and completing crossword puzzles. Debby was a part of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the National Teachers Association. She was active in the drama club in high school.
In addition to Debby's soulmate, Greg Chapman, she is survived by her two sisters, Maric Fisher and Wendy Mercier and her husband Jeff and her brother Phillip Tomeo. Debby leaves behind her beloved in-laws Lou and Evie Chapman, Bill and Judy Fulcher, Gary Chapman and the late Connie Chapman, who made Debby's beautiful pearl beaded wedding dress. Debby was the godmother of Mike Marchand and the aunt of Christina Roderick, Jenna and Jake Mercier and many other nieces and nephews as well and lifelong friend Suzanne Persson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Southeast Funeral, 93 Center Street, North Easton MA 02356 on Sunday June 12th at 10:00AM
