Billy Joe Smith

Billy Joe Smith Sr a.k.a, Bill was born on August 24th 1951. He entered the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. Bill relocated to Massachusetts around the age of 19. During this time in 1973 he became a life insurance agent. While on the job he met his future wife Doris Charley. Bill and Doris was married in December 1975 at Faithful Church of Christ in Boston, MA. In 1978, Bill and Doris opened United Global Insurance & Realty. Around 1982-1983 Bill and Doris became members of House of Prayer #5 in Brockton. Bill was a Real Estate Broker, Home & Car Insurance Agent, Lawyer, Businessman, Activist, Etc. He was a “Jack of All Trades” and a Master of all. Most importantly, Bill was a loving and caring husband, father, family man, and friend who leaves behind his wife Doris Smith, son Billy Jr, brothers Marshall Jones, Wilfred Scott and a sister Doris Sanders, a host of relatives and friends.

We will always love you Bill, you will be missed and remembered by the many lives you touched.

1985 -Bachelor of Science In Business Administration Cum Laude from Northeastern University

            Full Member of Sigma Epsilon Rho Honor Society

1993 – Honorable Discharged from the United States Marine Corps

1995 – Massachusetts Small Business Development Centers Certificate from UMass Boston

1999 – Juris Doctor in Arbitration and Mediation Cum Laude from La Salle University

2002 – Doctor of Naturopathy Magna Cum Laude from La Salle University

2011 – GBOS Image Awards Outstanding Community Service To The People Of Boston

2012 - National Action Network Chapter President - Northshore Region Of Massachusetts

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Southeast Funeral Home, 93 Center St., Easton, MA from 10:00AM - 12:00PM with  a funeral service at 12:00 in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA.  Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
