Beverly Carlson Obituary

Beverly M. Carlson of North Easton, died May 22, 2023 at Good Samaritan hospital due to complications of pneumonia. She was 85.

Born in Rochester, NY to Gordon Malchow and Lillian (Harrison) Malchow on August 28, 1937, Beverly attended the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY. She graduated in June 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics. She married her husband William D. Carlson of 63 years in July 1959. Together they raised their three children Jean, David (predeceased) and Marilyn, first in Downingtown, PA, then moving to Hemlock, NY and finally North Easton, MA.

After they moved to North Easton in 1981, Beverly became a dedicated member of her community in many ways. She was involved in her church, Covenant Congregational Church of North Easton, MA. There her favorite position was chair of Worship and Music. She retired from Mupac Corporation in Brockton, MA as Inside Sales Representative in 2002.

Retirement allowed Beverly to devote time to her artistic side by designing and selling jewelry through her business Ring by Ring Designs and as a member of the Easton Shoveltown Art Co-op/Gallery. She created and sold many jewelry pieces in support of cancer research, donating the proceeds to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Beverly cherished gathering with extended family. The two most beloved family occasions were annual Thanksgiving celebrations on Cape Cod and the Pittsfield (NH) Hot Air Balloon Rally. One fond memory of the balloon rally was the time Beverly and the other passengers aboard the balloon ended up in Bow Lake, and they had to be towed to shore by boat!! Feet were wet but they had fun!

Beverly is survived by her husband William, daughter Jean Carlson and her husband Michael Beriss of Chevy Chase, MD; Marilyn (Carlson) Burton and her husband Jeffrey of North Easton, MA; daughter-in-law Kimberly (Thompson) Carlson of Pleasanton, CA; grandchildren Ben and Maren Beriss, William S. Carlson, Kameron Burton, Zachary Carlson, Brayden Burton and Rita Carlson; and sister-in-law Mary C. Rosewater, brother-in-law Gerow Carlson, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beverly’s name to the Memorial Fund of the Covenant Congregational Church of North Easton.

Calling hours will be Friday, June 9, 6:00-8:00 pm and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am June 10. Both will be at the Covenant Congregational Church of North Easton, 204 Center Street, North Easton, MA.
