Alice M. (Benson) Wing

Alice (Benson) Wing of Wareham, passed away after a brief illness on January 24, 2022 at Beth Israel Hospital Plymouth. She was born on March 26, 1942 in Boston Massachusetts, the daughter of Thomas and Alice (Cotter) Benson.

Alice was raised in the Savin Hill section of Dorchester where she loved to share fond memories of growing up with her brother and cousins.  She had many life long friends from her childhood.

Alice graduated from Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School in 1960. She went on to earn her Associates Degree in Human Services from Massasoit Community College while juggling being a mother and working. 

Alice was married to Patrick Wing of Chicopee MA for 37 years.  She spent most of her career caring for the elderly, first as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and then later retiring from New England Sinai as the Adult Day Health Coordinator. After retirement she continued to care for people in their homes.  She also developed a passion for energy medicine and became certified in reiki and reflexology.

Alice was active in the Council on Aging and enjoyed attending activities and volunteering her time.  She made many friends while being a member of The Golden Melodies Chorus.

She had a sense of adventure that once led her to take flying lessons and a ride in a hot air balloon.  She loved spending time at Swift’s Beach in Wareham and had many happy memories from vacationing in The White Mountains.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her ex-husband and dear friend Patrick Wing.  Alice is survived by her daughter; Allison (Wing) Lambert and her husband Bryan Lambert of Dartmouth;  her son Jason Wing of Wareham; her grandchildren; Shane and Nathan Lambert and Isabella Wing. She also leaves behind her brother; Thomas Benson and his wife Mary (Donahue) Benson of Quincy as well as many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Southeast Funeral Home, 93 Center St., Easton, MA on Saturday, February 5th from 9:00AM-10:30AM.  A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00AM at Holy Cross Parish, 225 Purchase St., Easton.  For those unable to attend, the mass will be livestreamed on the church's website at:  www.holycrosseaston.org.
