Nancy (Zine) Shaheen

Nancy Shaheen, of Weymouth, passed away on June 15th, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 88.  Born and raised in Boston’s South End, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Zine. Nancy was married to the late Ellis Shaheen for over 50 years. In her early years of marriage, Nancy focused on raising her 5 cherished children as an amazing homemaker.  As her children got older, Nancy worked as a health aide for a couple of years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at John Hancock Insurance company, and lastly in retail.  

Nancy was a strong believer in Christ.  Spending time with her family made her the happiest and the simple things in life brought her joy.  She especially enjoyed cooking and hosting dinners for family and friends.  Nancy was always a great listener. She was a kind and warmhearted woman and was attentive towards others. Throughout her life, Nancy was an avid Boston sports fan and animal lover, specifically dogs. She also loved country music and more recently enjoyed a mix of country-gospel.

Nancy was the beloved mother of Joseph Shaheen, Ellis Shaheen, Jr, Frances Shaheen, Nancy Shaheen and Patricia Spaur. Loving grandmother of Kyle Shaheen and Sister of Edward Zine, Jr. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Reba. Nancy was predeceased by her other 2 brothers, Robert Zine of Falmouth & Thomas Zine of Brockton and her sister, Frances Mankevich of Stoughton.

Visitation will be held in the Southeast Funeral Home, 93 Center St.  North Easton MA, on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main St., North Easton, MA. Interment will take place in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, Boston.
